Reading with your child can ensure that your child does not fall through the cracks of a classroom setting and can give your child a head start.
As an educator, I had over thirty children in my classroom. I could not teach at a level that was perfect for each individual child. Therefore, I would teach to the average level of my classroom. Although I had small group time to give additional time to the children that needed additional help, not all the children were able to keep up.
As a parent, I want my children to be the leaders of their class. I want to ensure my children not only understand their teachers’ lessons but excel and be the top of their class.
Teaching my children to read at a young age gives my children a head start in their educational future.
